If your website is one of your marketing tools, it is important to be sure it is doing everything it can do generate leads. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you are getting 10 or 100 visitors to your website each day if no one is calling or emailing you for more information.  There are several ways to convert your website visitors; here are three simple tactics I see many people forgetting to do.  They deal with providing relevant information as quickly as possible to your visitors.

1.) Make sure your phone number is in the text of every page.  With the number of people who search the internet with their phones, it is crucial to not only have your phone number large in the header (preferably top left) - you need to make sure it is in the content of your website pages too.  More often than not, someone will search for a service or product on their phone and want to call. Because the majority of people today have "smart phones," any phone number in text will be a hot link to make their phone call directly.  If the phone number is an image in the header, it would require someone to memorize your phone number and go to the keypad part of their phone and call.

When it comes to conversion, speed is the key!  Do not allow someone time to search for your phone, make it apparent on every page.

2.) Create landing pages for certain keywords and link appropriately.  More and more people are getting very sophisticated with how they search for things in the search engines.  At our Denver SEO company, we have noticed that the search volume of long tail keywords has increased over the last 8 months meaning people are getting more detailed with their search terms.  What does this mean for you and your seo campaign?  You need to accommodate the search trend that is developing.

If you own a roofing company and you offer both residential and commercial roofing services, you will want your residential roofing page to rank on the first page for residential roofing keywords.  This will allow someone who is looking for residential roofing services to find the information they are looking for immediately and not have to search through your site. Make sure to build links to your landing pages with your longtail keywords in mind.

Website conversion tactics3.) Include your information in content and images throughout your website pages.  We are all different and have different ways in which we take in information. Well so are your visitors; some like to read to find the information they are looking for and some like to navigate through pictures.  Since we have no control over who our website visitors are, we need to appease both crowds. 

Make sure to write your information (unique content) for those who like to read.  This will also help you in your search engine rankings.  Around this content, post relevant images that link to other pages associated with what you are talking about. Some people like "Read More" links and some like the quick "Read More" images.

Although these three tips are fairly easy to accomplish, they are often not executed.  All three of these website conversion tactics have worked for our seo clients in a wide variety of industries.  Remember to provide quick information several different ways throughout your website so you do not lose your visitors.  Afterall, you have worked so hard to get them to your website, you better keep them there!
